Miranda Lambert and Ella Langley team up on Snakeskin Boots to open Crisco

Miranda Lambert and Ella Langley have recorded a new duet called “Snakeskin Boots” to open Lambert’s album Crisco, due 2 October.
The song will premiere at country radio, the network of stations that specialise in country music, on the same day the album arrives, according to Billboard. It starts the record. That slot matters, because the opener sets the tone for everything that follows.
“Snakeskin Boots” was produced by Lambert and Jesse Frasure. A producer oversees the recording, from the arrangement to the final mix. Billboard describes the track as a vintage-Western style song, and Lambert said she wrote it with Langley in mind.
The album itself is taking shape in public. Crisco also includes “A Song to Sing”, a collaboration with Chris Stapleton, alongside the title track “Crisco” and “Til the Going’s Gone”. Lambert’s official website offers pre-order and pre-save for the album due 2 October. A pre-save simply adds the album to a listener’s streaming library as soon as it is released.
Lambert and Langley are already regular collaborators. They previously teamed up on “Butterfly Season” from Langley’s album Dandelion. Lambert also co-wrote and co-produced Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas”, sharing both songwriting and studio duties.
That working history now runs into awards season. “Choosin’ Texas” is nominated for single of the year and song of the year at the upcoming CMA Awards, the annual prizes from the Country Music Association. Langley heads into the November show with nine nominations. Lambert has seven.
For fans, this means a crowded fortnight. Lambert had posted a short teaser for “Snakeskin Boots” on 22 September that prompted speculation about a Langley appearance, as reported by Whiskey Riff. Confirmation followed the next day.
Live dates around the release are already listed. Her official site shows a sold-out show in Nashville, Tennessee on 1 October, a festival date in Ocean City, Maryland on 3 October and a sold-out show in Fort Worth, Texas on 6 October, followed by dates in Highland, California on 12 November and Phoenix, Arizona on 13 November, according to her official site. The timing is tight. New music, radio and the road all land together.
