Christie's will sell apparel and accessories from The Devil Wears Prada 2 in an online auction running 1–15 September, with proceeds going to the Committee to Protect Journalists and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (WWD, 6 August 2026).

The charity auction was conceived and supported by Meryl Streep, who led a similar costume sale after the first film. Streep and co-star Stanley Tucci said in an April 2026 ABC News interview that journalism is "under siege," and Anne Hathaway and Streep discussed in a USA Today video why the sequel's storyline matters to protecting journalism — connecting the film's fashion-world satire to the real-world causes the auction will fund.

Bidders will find a spread that runs from high-fashion pieces to a single mass-market sweater. A Gabriela Hearst Niki dress worn by Anne Hathaway's character Andy Sachs — still carrying the stain from the film — carries an estimate of $3,000–$4,000. A Dries Van Noten tassel jacket Meryl Streep wore as Miranda Priestly during a Runway staff meeting is estimated at $4,000–$6,000, as is a black-and-white Schiaparelli jacket also worn by Streep's character. A Dolce & Gabbana three-piece suit with a Cheetah neck scarf worn by Stanley Tucci is estimated at $2,000–$3,000.

A handful of lots come from outside the core cast. The Bad Binch TongTong dress by Terrence Zhou that Lady Gaga wore in the music video for "Runway" with artist Doechii is estimated at $3,000–$4,000. A white-draped Elie Saab minidress and white knee-high Maison Skorpios boots worn by Lucy Liu are estimated at $2,000–$3,000. A prototype of red Valentino Garavani Rocketed pumps worn by Streep in the film's trailer and signed by the actress carries an estimate of $500–$1,000.

One lot carries a particular echo of the original film. A cerulean blue J.Crew sweater — a colour name that figured in one of the first film's most-quoted monologues about how trends trickle down from runway to bargain bin — is estimated at $100–$200. And the Elsa Peretti bone cuff worn by Emily Blunt as Emily, a piece of jewellery that retails for $107,000, will also go under the hammer, though no auction estimate was listed for it.

For those who want to see the pieces in person, a free public exhibition runs at Christie's New York, 20 Rockefeller Plaza, from 8 to 13 September, alongside the "Handbags Online: The September Edit" luxury handbag auction. Christie's is also hosting an invitation-only cocktail party and live charity auction on 10 September, during New York Fashion Week, the industry's semi-annual showcase of new collections. Rachel Koffsky Parker, Christie's International Head of Handbags, will serve as auctioneer for the live event, which will auction pieces and film-inspired experiences to benefit CPJ and the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund via the CFDA Foundation Inc.

Christie's auction calendar lists the event as "The Devil Wears Prada 2: The Auction" under its Luxury at Christie's Autumn 2026 series.

For fans, the auction offers a rare chance to own a tangible piece of a film whose wardrobe was as central to its identity as its dialogue. For the causes it supports, it channels that attention toward press freedom and emerging fashion design — the two worlds the Devil Wears Prada stories have always straddled.
