The Devil Wears Prada Extends West End Run Further Into 2027
The West End production of The Devil Wears Prada has extended its run at the Dominion Theatre, with the booking period now stretching further into 2027 (WhatsOnStage).
The musical has sold over 1.2 million tickets, making it the fastest-selling production in the Dominion Theatre's history. It is set to reach its 800th performance on 23 September 2026 (WhatsOnStage).
Tickets are on sale from £25, with performances Monday to Saturday evenings and Wednesday and Saturday matinees (devilwearspradamusical.com).
The show opened at the Dominion Theatre in December 2024, following an initial season at Theatre Royal Plymouth. It is based on Lauren Weisberger's 2003 novel and the 2006 film adaptation. The musical features music by Elton John, lyrics by Shaina Taub and Mark Sonnenblick, and a book by Kate Wetherhead. Jerry Mitchell directs and choreographs.
Behind the scenes, the creative team includes set designer Tim Hatley, costume designer Gregg Barnes, lighting designer Bruno Poet, sound designer Gareth Owen, and casting director Jill Green. An original cast recording was released last year, featuring unused demo tracks by Elton John (WhatsOnStage).
The production is staged by producers Kevin McCollum, David Furnish, and Jamie Wilson, in partnership with Theatre Royal Plymouth and by arrangement with Buena Vista Theatrical. The run is now booked through to at least 6 February 2027 (WhatsOnStage; Playbill).
Vanessa Williams, who plays the formidable Miranda Priestly, announced a new final performance date following the extension into 2027 (Playbill). Matt Henry, who plays Nigel, will remain with the cast until February 2027 (WhatsOnStage).
The cast also includes Stevie Doc — winner of ITV's Mamma Mia! I Have A Dream — as Andy, a performance nominated for a WhatsOnStage Award, and Taila Halford as Emily (devilwearspradamusical.com).
For a show that began life in Plymouth before transferring to one of the West End's largest houses, the extension confirms that audience demand has not slowed. Over 1.2 million tickets sold at the Dominion Theatre, a venue with roughly 2,100 seats, means the production has been playing to substantial houses night after night for nearly two years. The further extension into 2027 gives latecomers and returning fans another window to catch it.
