DreamWorks Animation has released the first trailer for CoComelon: The Movie, bringing the YouTube-born children's franchise to cinemas for the first time. Universal Pictures will release the film in theatres on 19 February 2027, with animation handled by the DNEG Group Variety.

The trailer lays out the story: JJ and his friends hunt for his stuffed bear, Boba, and tumble through a lost-and-found box into an unknown world. Connor Esterson reprises the role of JJ, with Camden Brooks as Cody, Olivia London Leyva as Nina, and Aerina DeBoer as CeCe Variety.

New cast members joining the feature include Ike Barinholtz, Ego Nwodim, Josh Johnson, Matt Friend, Rhys Darby, and Cristo Fernández. SZA also features in a performance role, and songwriter Justin Tranter serves as executive music producer, creating new original music for the film Variety.

Kat Good directs. The film is produced by DreamWorks Animation, Moonbug Entertainment, Flywheel Media, and Prime Focus Studios Variety.

CoComelon began as a YouTube series in 2006 and has since amassed over 200 million subscribers, making it one of the platform's most-watched channels Variety. Moonbug Entertainment acquired the franchise in 2020, after which CoComelon expanded across streaming, merchandise, and live entertainment Animation Scoop.

Universal had previously unveiled a first-look image and the voice cast in May 2026 The Hollywood Reporter. At the time of that announcement, the release date was set for 26 February 2027 Variety. The trailer now confirms a shifted date of 19 February.

What stands out is the scale of the talent assembled. SZA, a Grammy-winning artist with no prior animated film credit of this profile, joins a ensemble of established comedy performers spanning Saturday Night Live, Flight of the Conchords, and Ted Lasso. For a property built on nursery-rhyme simplicity, the cast signals an ambition to reach parents as deliberately as it reaches children.
