Casting director Kim Taylor-Coleman has been re-elected president of the Academy Foundation Board for 2026-27, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on 6 August 2026 (Deadline).

Taylor-Coleman, an Academy governor who also co-chaired the 2025-2026 Nicholl Fellowships screenwriting committee, will lead the Foundation's board for a second consecutive one-year term. The Foundation is the educational and cultural arm of AMPAS — the organisation behind the Oscars — overseeing talent development programmes, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, the Margaret Herrick Library, the Academy Film Archive, and the Academy Collection.

Four officers were elected alongside her. Brooke Breton, representing the Visual Effects Branch, and Paul Cameron, from the Cinematographers Branch, will serve as vice presidents. David Dinerstein, of the Marketing and Public Relations Branch, takes the treasurer role. Marlon West, from the Animation Branch, was named secretary. All officers and board members serve one-year terms.

Seven board members round out the 2026-27 slate: Patricia Cardoso (Directors Branch), Peter Devlin (Sound Branch), Richard Hicks (Casting Directors Branch), Lynette Howell Taylor (Producers Branch), Larry Karaszewski (Writers Branch), Chris Tashima (Short Films Branch), and Terilyn A. Shropshire (Film Editors Branch).

Three of those names will pull double duty. Dinerstein, Howell Taylor, and Taylor-Coleman will also serve on the Academy Museum Board of Trustees for the year, representing the Foundation Board.

Academy CEO Bill Kramer praised the board members in a statement for their time, expertise, and support. Taylor-Coleman's re-election means continuity at the top of the Foundation at a moment when the Academy has been broadening the international and domestic reach of its Nicholl Fellowships screenwriting programme, which she helped steer as co-chair through the 2025-26 cycle.

The Foundation board structure mirrors the Academy's own branch system — each of the officer and member seats is tied to one of the craft branches that make up AMPAS, from cinematographers to film editors. That design keeps the people governing the Academy's cultural and educational work drawn from the same professional ranks that vote on the Oscars each year.
