Tasha Cobbs Leonard will release a new live album, Tasha Unscripted, on 11 September via Motown Gospel/Capitol Christian Music Group, as reported by Billboard.

The album captures a live worship concert recorded in Atlanta earlier in 2025. Cobbs Leonard, who lived in the city for 15 years, had invited fans to attend the recording through her official Facebook page. The guest list for the concert reads like a gospel all-star bill: Mickey Guyton, Jonathan McReynolds, Karen Clark Sheard, Kierra Sheard-Kelly, William Murphy, Israel Houghton and Le'Andria Johnson all feature, according to Billboard and Shore Fire Media.

A preview track is already out. "Gracefully Broken/Who The Son Sets Free (Live)," featuring Israel Houghton, arrived ahead of the album with an official video.

Tasha Unscripted returns Cobbs Leonard to the live format after her 2025 studio album TASHA, which marked a departure from the live recordings she had built her career on. TASHA debuted at No. 1 on three Billboard charts simultaneously — Top Gospel Albums, Current Gospel Albums and Top Christian/Gospel Albums. It included "Church," a collaboration with EGOT winner John Legend that topped the Billboard Gospel Airplay chart, the metric that tracks radio plays at gospel-format stations.

To date, Cobbs Leonard has placed 10 songs at No. 1 on that chart.

The album news arrives during a particularly busy stretch for the artist. On 15 August, she will receive the Aretha Franklin icon award at the 41st Stellar Gospel Music Awards, one of gospel music's highest-profile ceremonies. She is also nominated for six Stellar trophies, including artist of the year, album of the year and Albertina Walker female artist of the year.

Beyond the Stellar Awards, Cobbs Leonard holds three nominations at the upcoming GMA Dove Awards — the Gospel Music Association's annual honours — spanning Contemporary Gospel album of the year, Contemporary Gospel recorded song of the year and Traditional Gospel recorded song of the year.

On the road, she will launch the Unscripted Nights Tour in autumn 2025, with confirmed stops in Charlotte, Atlanta, New York and Brunswick, Georgia, according to Shore Fire Media and her official website. The Brunswick date falls on 12 September, one day after the album's release.

For fans, the timing means new music will be barely a week old when the tour opens — and the live album's roster of collaborators offers a sense of what those nights might sound like.
