If you applied to play The Duskbloods early, the moment of truth has arrived. Selection results for the game's closed network test went live on August 7 at 6:00 a.m. PDT, and the only way to find out whether you made the cut is to check the official campaign website yourself.

That's the key detail From Software and Nintendo want applicants to know: no emails are going out. Players must head to campaign.theduskbloods.jp, open the three-line menu in the corner, select "Account," and log in with the same Nintendo Account used to apply. The personal page that loads will show whether the lottery — selections were drawn at random, not first-come-first-served — landed in your favour.

The Duskbloods is a multiplayer title from From Software, the studio behind the Dark Souls series and Elden Ring, built for Nintendo's Switch 2 console. It was first revealed over a year ago, and a release date has still not been announced. What players get this month is a technical test — a behind-the-scenes stress check covering server load, multiplayer functionality, and game balance — not a demo or a beta preview of a finished product.

Each match in the test pits up to eight players against one another. Participation is free, but you'll need a Nintendo Switch 2 and an active Nintendo Switch Online membership to take part.

For those selected, download codes become available on the campaign website on August 18 at 6:00 a.m. PT (9:00 a.m. ET). The test itself runs across five sessions spread over three days:

  • August 21, 3:00–7:00 a.m. PT
  • August 21, 7:00–11:00 p.m. PT
  • August 22, 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. PT
  • August 23, 3:00–7:00 a.m. PT
  • August 23, 7:00–11:00 p.m. PT

Nintendo described the event as a global network test, and the company published guidance on its US and Australian websites to help players through the application process. Applications opened on July 22 and closed on July 28. The number of participants is limited, though neither From Software nor Nintendo has disclosed how many spots were available.

For fans of From Software's previous work, The Duskbloods represents a shift worth watching. The studio is best known for single-player, action-role-playing experiences, and a multiplayer-focused title on a Nintendo platform is new territory. What the network test will reveal — beyond whether the servers hold up — is the first real look at how that formula translates into competitive, eight-player matches.

If you haven't checked yet, your Nintendo Account and a few clicks are all that stand between you and an answer.
