Will Estes is heading to Boston. The actor will reprise his Blue Bloods role as Jamie Reagan in an upcoming episode of the CBS spin-off Boston Blue, according to Deadline.

Donnie Wahlberg broke the news himself, posting a behind-the-scenes photo on his Instagram Story with the caption: "Welcome (back) to the family! Jamie Reagan! AKA Will Estes!" The image also featured co-stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Marcus Scribner and Mika Amonsen Deadline. A fan in Boston had filmed Wahlberg on set with Estes on August 6, and Wahlberg shared that footage to his Instagram Story as well, according to Yahoo Entertainment.

Boston Blue follows Wahlberg's Danny Reagan after he leaves the NYPD for the Boston Police Department. The spin-off premiered in October 2025, picking up after Blue Bloods ended its 14-season run in late 2024. CBS gave the show an early Season 2 renewal in December 2025, with new episodes set to return on October 9 Deadline.

Estes is the latest but not the first Blue Bloods veteran to make the trip north. Bridget Moynahan returned as Danny's sister Erin, Len Cariou as grandfather Henry Reagan, and Will Hochman as Danny's nephew Joe Hill Deadline. One role changed hands between series: Danny's son Sean, played by Andrew Terraciano in Blue Bloods, is now portrayed by Mika Amonsen Deadline. Paramount+ describes the Boston Blue cast as Wahlberg "alongside an all-new company of series regulars" Paramount+.

Wahlberg had been teasing another family member's arrival. Entertainment Weekly reported that he revealed a third Blue Bloods original cast member — described as a Reagan family patriarch — would appear in the spin-off, though that outlet did not name the actor or specify a date Entertainment Weekly.

For Blue Bloods fans, the Reagan family dinner table keeps getting set, even if the table has moved to a different city. Estes' arrival means four of the show's central Reagans — Danny, Erin, Henry and now Jamie — have crossed over into the spin-off. The question of whether more will follow is one Wahlberg seems happy to keep dangling.
