Round8 Studio, the developer behind the dark, puppet-themed action game Lies of P, has released a short documentary offering a rare look at how the team built and refined the game before release. The film, titled "NOUGH Studio | Games by Gamers (Full Film)," is available on YouTube and was shared by Round8's parent publisher, Neowiz, in early August 2026 (Eurogamer, 9 August 2026; Nintendo Life, 7 August 2026).

The documentary centres on Nough, an internal team within Round8. The name comes from "not enough, but without the e" — a shorthand for the philosophy that the team is "never enough" and there is always room to improve. Nough describes its defining traits as tenacity and determination (Eurogamer, 9 August 2026).

Lies of P director Jiwon Choi explains in the film that the Nough team approaches development as players first, because players can tell when a game was made with real dedication. That player-first mindset shows up in practice: Nough team members take part in playtesting sessions where the entire development team, including Choi himself, play the game together to validate its structure (Eurogamer, 9 August 2026).

For context, Lies of P is a Souls-like — a genre of action role-playing games known for precise combat and punishing difficulty, named after FromSoftware's Dark Souls series. Released by Neowiz, it casts players as a mechanical puppet navigating the haunted city of Krat. The game proved successful enough to spawn an expansion, Lies of P: Overture, which Neowiz said was available starting 5 June 2025 and which transports players back to the origins of the Puppet Frenzy that sets the main game's events in motion (Neowiz press release).

The documentary focuses mostly on the first Lies of P, but it is the tease at the end that has caught the most attention. Director Jiwon Choi said Nough's next unannounced project will be "really fun and emotionally moving." He added: "We're giving it everything we have to make it the best it can be. So please, just wait a little longer… This is the truth, not a lie" — a knowing wink at the game's own title (Eurogamer, 9 August 2026).

That last line lands as a promise to a fanbase that has already shown it will follow the studio into darker territory. No release window, platform, or title has been announced for the next project. But for a team that named itself after the idea of never being satisfied, the message is clear: they are not done yet.
