The haunted pizzeria from Five Nights at Freddy's is becoming a real place you can walk into — and order a slice.

Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, billed as the world's first permanent immersive restaurant experience tied to the franchise, is set to open in 2027 at the American Dream mall and entertainment complex in Bergen County, New Jersey, according to Deadline. A spokesperson for the project confirmed the "world's first" designation. The attraction is being developed in partnership with Scott Games, the banner of Five Nights at Freddy's creator Scott Cawthon.

Inside, visitors will find pizza, arcade games, animatronic shows on the Main Stage and in Pirate Cove, and horror-inspired multiplayer game experiences. In other words: the game's jump-scare animatronics will be performing on a schedule, and the arcade will let groups play together in scenarios designed to frighten. American Dream has already published a dedicated sign-up page offering early announcements, special offers, and opening news ahead of the launch.

Leading the project on the ground is Atreyu Alcantar, who holds an unusual double credential: he is both American Dream's creative manager and an active Five Nights at Freddy's cosplayer. That combination places a fan of the franchise inside the institution building the attraction, rather than relying solely on outside consultants.

For American Dream, the announcement is the latest in a string of attention-grabbing tenants at a complex that has built its identity around immersive, Instagram-ready destinations rather than conventional retail. For the Five Nights at Freddy's brand, the restaurant is a physical extension of a franchise that has already moved from a 2014 indie video game to a billion-dollar media property.

The numbers back that up. The first Five Nights at Freddy's film, released by Blumhouse in 2023, gave the horror studio the biggest opening in its history. Across two films, the cinematic franchise has surpassed $530 million in global box office. A third and final installment, Five Nights at Freddy's 3, directed by Emma Tammi as the conclusion of the Blumhouse trilogy, is set to reach cinemas on 5 December, per Blumhouse. That gives the restaurant a built-in wave of attention as it moves toward its 2027 opening.

American Dream has also announced it will recreate Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria for its 2026 Halloween display, offering an early preview of the concept a full year before the permanent venue arrives.

The Five Nights at Freddy's franchise began as a point-and-click survival horror game in which the player, a night-shift security guard, monitors security cameras to avoid being caught by animatronic characters that roam a family pizzeria after hours. The game's lore — built across more than a dozen sequels and spin-offs — turned those animatronics into recognisable figures with devoted fan followings. Soon, those fans will be able to eat a pizza in the same room as them.
