The leak, first reported by Engadget, details a flagship smartwatch that is both thinner and substantially upgraded over the 2025 Galaxy Watch Ultra across several key hardware dimensions.
The headline specification is the display. Blass's leak claims the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 reaches 5,000 nits of peak brightness, up from 3,000 nits on the prior model. A June report from Notebookcheck indicated the panel uses OCF-OLED technology, which would represent a shift in display architecture for Samsung's wearables lineup. The brightness jump matters less for indoor visibility than for outdoor use in direct sunlight, the scenario where current flagship watches still struggle to remain legible.
The battery figure is the most aggressive upgrade in the leak. The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is claimed to pack an 800 mAh cell, a 35% increase over the 2025 model's 590 mAh. Whether that translates to proportionally longer runtime depends heavily on the power draw of the new display and chipset, but the raw capacity increase is significant for a device that Blass's renders also show to be 12% thinner than its predecessor. Fitting a larger battery into a thinner chassis implies changes to internal layout, cell density, or both.
The leak claims an IP69K dust- and water-resistance rating, upgrading from the IP68 rating on the 2025 Galaxy Watch Ultra. Leaked renders depict a Titanium Silver color variant paired with a green band, according to SamMobile. The renders show a design language consistent with the first-generation Ultra's circular, somewhat industrial aesthetic, with refinements to the casing profile suggested by the reported thinning.
The broader context here is that Samsung's Brazilian newsroom published an article in December 2025 referencing the "Galaxy Watch Ultra2" in connection with a #MovimenteSeComGalaxy fitness challenge campaign, an early indication that the product name and marketing positioning were already in motion well ahead of the Unpacked announcement. That accidental or premature reference was, in effect, the first official acknowledgment of the device's existence, even if Samsung did not formally unveil it at that time.
Taken together, the leaked specifications sketch a device that addresses the two most persistent criticisms of flagship smartwatches: daylight screen visibility and battery life.
