Suzi Quatro Returns to Australia for 'Down Under 2026' Tour with Baby Animals
Suzi Quatro will return to Australia in November and December 2026 for her "Down Under 2026" tour, with Australian rock band Baby Animals joining as special guests. General tickets go on sale Wednesday, August 12 at 10 a.m. local time, according to Billboard.
The tour, presented by Face to Face Touring, opens at Rooty Hill's Coliseum Theatre on November 14 before moving to the Sydney Opera House on November 15. From there, Quatro heads to Hobart's Wrest Point Entertainment Centre on November 18 and The Star on the Gold Coast on November 20. Melbourne's Palais Theatre follows on December 2, and the headline run closes at Fremantle Prison on December 6 — a venue that is, as the name suggests, a former penal institution now used for live events.
Quatro will also headline four Red Hot Summer Tour outdoor shows — a travelling Australian rock festival — across Brisbane, Lake Macquarie, Torquay and the Barossa Valley. Those dates are November 22 at Brisbane's Roma Street Parkland, November 28 at Speers Point Park in Lake Macquarie, November 29 at Torquay Common, and December 5 at Seppeltsfield Wines in the Barossa Valley. The Red Hot Summer Tour bills vary by state and include Australian rock acts Jon Stevens, Rose Tattoo, Dragon, Choirboys and the Screaming Jets.
Born in Detroit in 1950, Quatro began performing as a teenager in the mid-1960s with the all-female band the Pleasure Seekers. Producer Mickie Most brought her to England in 1971 to launch her as a solo artist. Two years later, "Can the Can" topped the charts in the U.K., Australia and across Europe. She followed it with international hits including "48 Crash," "Daytona Demon" and "Devil Gate Drive."
"Can the Can" reached No. 56 on the Billboard Hot 100 — the U.S. singles chart — upon a later American release. Her biggest American hit came in 1979: "Stumblin' In," a duet with Smokie's Chris Norman, peaked at No. 4 on the Hot 100. Across her career, Quatro has sold more than 55 million records.
Beyond music, she played the recurring role of Leather Tuscadero on the American sitcom Happy Days and has worked as an author, radio broadcaster and West End performer, starring in a London production of Annie Get Your Gun. Her career was chronicled in the 2019 documentary Suzi Q. Her latest studio album, Freedom, was released in 2026.
Quatro's most recent Australian touring history includes appearances at Frontier Touring's One Electric Day events in 2022, alongside a line-up that featured Noiseworks, The Angels and Baby Animals, with shows across Victoria, South Australia and Queensland (Frontier Touring). The 2026 run reunites her with Baby Animals, who opened for her on that earlier outing.
For fans, the itinerary spans five states and a mix of theatres, a casino showroom, a winery and a heritage prison site — a route that puts Quatro in rooms ranging from the intimate to the open-air festival field.
