System of a Down and Faith No More Announce Australia and New Zealand Stadium Tour for Early 2027

System of a Down will return to Australia and New Zealand for the first time in over a decade, staging a four-city stadium tour in January and February 2027 with Faith No More as special guests. Billboard confirmed the dates on July 27, 2026, following a teaser campaign that had fans speculating across the region since the previous Friday.

The run begins at Sydney's Accor Stadium on January 22, 2027, then moves to Marvel Stadium in Melbourne on January 27, Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on February 1, and Hnry Stadium in Wellington, New Zealand on February 7. TEG Live, one of Australasia's largest promoters, is handling ticketing across all four markets. General sales open on Friday, July 31, with staggered start times by city. A PayPal First Access presale starts July 29, preceded by a mailing-list artist presale on July 28.

Faith No More signalled the announcement first, posting on their official Facebook page: "It's been a minute. Let's do this Australia and NZ. Joining our friends System of a Down…" Serj Tankian, System of a Down's lead vocalist, shared the full itinerary on his own Facebook page shortly after. Consequence reported on July 26 that the dates constitute Faith No More's first live performances in more than a decade, framing them as reunion shows.

The teaser build was physical and public. On Friday, July 24, murals featuring System of a Down's hand symbol appeared on walls in Melbourne and Sydney. The same day, a light projection of Faith No More's logo lit up a building in Brisbane. The murals and projection were later confirmed as part of the tour's marketing rollout.

For System of a Down, these are the band's first Australian shows since the 2012 Soundwave Festival, the now-defunct travelling rock event that once dominated the southern-hemisphere summer circuit. Faith No More last played Australia in 2015, also at Soundwave, during what became the festival's final edition before its collapse.

Faith No More's own tour-dates page also lists three US shows — Raleigh, North Carolina on July 31, Philadelphia on August 1, and Columbia, Maryland's Merriweather Post Pavilion on August 2 — though those dates carry no year on the page and their relationship to the Australia/New Zealand run is unclear.

For fans across Australia and New Zealand, the tour pairs two bands that shaped alternative metal through the 1990s and 2000s on the same stadium bill for the first time in the region. The 14-year gap since System of a Down last played there, and the longer absence for Faith No More, puts the demand question squarely on the July 31 on-sale.
