Big Walk, a co-op adventure about talking and walking with friends, has sold more than one million copies in its first six days on sale. Publisher Panic announced the milestone on August 10, 2026, via its Bluesky and X accounts, with developer House House credited alongside the figure Nintendo Everything.

The number does not include PlayStation Plus downloads. Big Walk was included in the PS+ Essential tier — the mid-level subscription that grants a rotating set of games each month — for August, meaning a large additional audience played it without purchasing a copy VGC.

Released on August 4, 2026, Big Walk is a multiplayer-only game supporting sessions of two to 12 players. Groups explore a vast world together, solving puzzles that rely on proximity voice chat — audio that only reaches nearby teammates — or text chat to communicate. The game supports crossplay, letting friends join across PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation Eurogamer. It was not available on Xbox as of the announcement.

The launch has been strong across platforms. Big Walk held the number-two spot on Steam's Top Sellers list, behind only the Steam Machine, and topped the Nintendo Switch 2 download-only charts. On PC, the game drew more than 30,000 daily concurrent players, according to tracker SteamDB VGC.

Critical reception has matched the commercial performance. Big Walk holds a Metacritic score of 92 — the review-aggregation site that collects and averages critical scores — and Eurogamer awarded it five out of five stars. Reviewer Chris Schilling called it "a funny, exciting and deeply rewarding multiplayer adventure" Eurogamer.

House House is the Melbourne-based studio best known for Untitled Goose Game, the 2019 title about a pestering goose that became a breakout hit. Panic, the publisher, is a Portland-based software and games company whose catalogue includes Firewatch and the Playdate handheld.

What makes the sales figure stand out is the ceiling it does not account for. With PlayStation Plus downloads excluded, the actual player count is higher than one million — potentially far higher, given that PS+ Essential reaches subscribers across Sony's console base. Panic did not provide a separate figure for those downloads.

For a multiplayer-only game, early adoption matters. Big Walk's design depends on groups of friends showing up together, and six-day momentum of this scale suggests the word-of-mouth loop is working. Whether it sustains will depend on how House House supports the game in the weeks ahead.
