Gigi Hadid's Guest in Residence Adds Denim to the Knitwear Line-Up

Gigi Hadid's luxury knitwear label Guest in Residence will launch its first women's denim collection on 10 September, marking the brand's expansion beyond cashmere into a category Hadid says sits at the centre of how she dresses.
Hadid founded Guest in Residence in 2022, building it around a concept she calls "Future Heirlooms" — knitwear designed to last for years rather than a single season. The brand sells direct-to-consumer through its website, guestinresidence.com, with prices listed in euros, and operates a flagship store at 21 Bond Street in New York. Its existing range runs from 100% cashmere crewnecks to blends of cashmere-silk-wool and cotton-silk, alongside pieces like the Waffle Work Pant and the Wild Rag. Now it is adding jeans.
The new collection was created in collaboration with Benjamin Talley Smith, a denim specialist whose previous work spans Khaite, Madewell, Reformation, Rag & Bone/Jean, Re/Done Originals and Ulla Johnson Denim. Together they developed four key silhouettes: the Traveler Jean, the Everyday Jean, the Weekender Jean and the Workday Jean. Fabrics come in 100% cotton and cotton-lyocell blends, lyocell being a cellulose-based fibre often used to soften denim and reduce its environmental footprint relative to conventional cotton. The cloth is sourced from mills in Turkey, where the jeans are also manufactured under what the brand describes as responsible production practices.
The washes — the colour treatments applied to denim fabric after weaving — were developed by studying authentic vintage garments sourced worldwide. They range from near-white to 1970s blue and worn-in black. Hadid described denim as the heart of her personal wardrobe, living in it alongside cashmere and calling that combination her uniform. WWD
The move follows a pattern for Hadid, who has said she drew on lessons from her guest co-designer work with Tommy Hilfiger when launching Guest in Residence, and has credited her daughter with influencing the brand's direction. She promoted the label's spring 2025 collection on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and the brand has previously collaborated with the Los Angeles label Madhappy on an 18-piece capsule of lightweight cotton knitwear.
What makes the denim launch worth watching is the supply chain behind it. Guest in Residence is leaning into Turkey — one of the world's largest denim manufacturing hubs — for both fabric and production, rather than splitting sourcing across multiple regions. That keeps the mills, the dye houses and the sewing under one country's labour and environmental framework. Turkey's garment sector has faced scrutiny over wages and working conditions, and the brand's claim of responsible practices will be tested against that backdrop as the collection reaches consumers.
For shoppers, the collection lands at the start of the fall 2026 season, priced in euros alongside the rest of the Guest in Residence catalogue. Four silhouettes, a handful of vintage-inspired washes, and a founder who says the jeans are simply what she already wears every day.
