Prime Video Drops Full Trailer for 'Neagley,' the 'Reacher' Spinoff Arriving Sept. 16
Amazon Prime Video has released the first full trailer for Neagley, an action thriller spinoff of its hit series Reacher. The eight-episode first season arrives on 16 September, landing immediately after the Reacher Season 4 finale (Variety; About Amazon).
Maria Sten returns as Frances Neagley, a private investigator working in Chicago and a former military protégé of Jack Reacher from their days in the Army's 110th Special Investigations Unit. Alan Ritchson guest stars as Reacher himself, bridging the two series (Variety).
The trailer lays out the central conflict: Neagley discovers a friend has been drawn into what appears to be an altruistic community group — one that is, in reality, a front for a dangerous cult. The supporting cast includes Greyston Holt as Detective Hudson Riley, Adeline Rudolph as Renee Birdwhistle, Jasper Jones as Keno, Matthew Del Negro as Pierce Woodrow, and Damon Herriman as Lawrence Cole (Variety).
The series is based on characters created by novelist Lee Child. Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton created the show and serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Child executive produces alongside Don Granger, Sam Hill, Adam Higgs, and Lisa Kussner. Sam Hill directed the first two episodes. Prime Video had already been building toward this moment. The platform released an official teaser trailer on its YouTube channel on 29 July, describing the series as "from the world of REACHER." The scheduling is deliberate. By releasing all eight episodes of Neagley the same night as the Reacher Season 4 finale, Prime Video is betting that viewers already glued to the parent show will slide directly into its spinoff — a straight-to-series order, meaning no pilot episode was shot first to test the concept (About Amazon).
For fans of the Reacher universe, September now holds two releases in one night: the close of one season and the launch of another.
