Neagley Trailer Arrives as Reacher Season 4 Opens: Prime Video's Spinoff Lands September 16

Prime Video dropped the full trailer for Neagley, its Reacher spinoff starring Maria Sten, on the same day Reacher returned for its fourth season — August 12 — and gave the new series a premiere date of September 16, which is also the date Reacher's fourth-season finale lands (The Hollywood Reporter).

That scheduling is no accident. By launching the spinoff the same day the parent series wraps, Prime Video is keeping Reacher viewers inside its own ecosystem rather than letting the audience disperse between seasons.

Neagley follows Frances Neagley, a private investigator working in Chicago and a former colleague of Jack Reacher's in the Army's 110th Special Investigations Unit. Maria Sten played the character as a regular across seasons two and three of Reacher. Alan Ritchson, who stars as Reacher, guest stars in Neagley and appears in the trailer.

The first season runs eight episodes, released as a binge drop — meaning all episodes arrive at once rather than weekly. The story sends Neagley into the death of a friend from her past, a death that looks like an accident but, as the trailer makes clear, is not.

Amazon MGM Studios first confirmed a series order for the project in October 2024, when it was announced under the working title The Untitled Neagley Project (Amazon MGM Studios). A teaser followed on Prime Video's Instagram account in late July 2026 (Instagram). The full trailer on August 12 gave audiences their first extended look at the series.

The cast alongside Sten includes Greyston Holt, Adeline Rudolph, Jasper Jones, Matthew Del Negro and Damon Herriman. Nick Santora, who developed Reacher for television, co-runs Neagley with Nicholas Wootton. The two share executive producing duties with Reacher author Lee Child, Don Granger, Sam Hill, Adam Higgs and Lisa Kussner. Sam Hill directed the first two episodes. Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios produce.

For fans, the appeal is straightforward: a character who already proved herself across two seasons of Reacher now gets eight episodes of her own, with the parent show's lead stopping by. The September 16 binge release means viewers who finish Reacher that day can roll straight into Neagley's story.
