Ghost of Yōtei: Complete Edition brings new story, co-op and roguelike mode to PS5 on 1 October
Sony has announced Ghost of Yōtei: Complete Edition for PlayStation 5, arriving on 1 October 2026. The new bundle rounds up every piece of content released for the 2025 open-world action game and adds a fresh story expansion, a roguelike survival mode and the return of online co-op. Developed by Sucker Punch Productions and originally released on 2 October 2025, Ghost of Yōtei is a standalone adventure set in 1600s rural Japan. Players follow Atsu, a protagonist who begins her journey in 1603 in the lands surrounding Mount Yōtei at the northern edge of Japan.
The headline addition is Echoes of Sekigahara, described by PlayStation as a new narrative expansion. It splits its story across two timelines. In the present day, players explore a previously unseen valley once home to a character called The Snake and his followers, the Vipers, and meet Nagato, a figure from Atsu's past. In flashback, the episode covers Atsu's time in the Battle of Sekigahara — a key moment in her life before she returned home to pursue her quest for vengeance. A second new mode, Most Wanted, is a roguelike — a format where each run starts fresh and death resets your progress, with permanent unlocks that carry forward. Players accept bounties, dispatch enemies and unlock additional playable characters, each specialising in one of the game's weapons.
The Complete Edition also bundles in Legends, an online co-op mode, along with everything from the original Digital Deluxe Edition, new music in Watanabe Mode, new Photo Mode stamps, additional cosmetics for New Game Plus (a second playthrough that carries over progress), and new Trophies.

The base game has received steady support since launch. Patch 1.100, released in November 2025, added New Game Plus, replayable challenge content, all 22 Yotei Six Camps and 26 Replayable Duels. For fans who jumped into Atsu's world last October, the 1 October 2026 release date means the Complete Edition lands almost exactly one year after the original. The upgrade price keeps existing owners from rebuying the full game, while the new story expansion and Most Wanted mode give returning players fresh reasons to pick up the controller again.
