Neagley, the Reacher spinoff, drops all eight episodes on September 16
All eight episodes of Neagley, the first spinoff from Reacher, arrive on Prime Video on September 16.
The release lands just after the Reacher Season Four finale. Prime Video said all eight episodes will drop together on that date, and the series will stream exclusively on its service worldwide Prime Video.
The show is a spinoff, meaning a new series built around a character from an existing one. Maria Sten stars as Frances Neagley, the role she already played in Reacher. The eight-part first season was co-created by Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton, according to Variety.
In this story, Neagley is Reacher’s former military comrade. She now works as a private investigator in Chicago. That is a sharp change of base. Reacher follows a drifter who keeps moving from town to town.
The new case starts with a personal loss. Neagley learns that a close friend from her past has died in what looks like a suspicious accident, and she sets out to find the truth, Variety reported last year. Footage released in August points to a creepy cult at the centre of the mystery Variety.
Viewers meeting her for the first time get a quick catch-up. Reacher is the Prime Video drama based on the novels by Lee Child. Alan Ritchson plays drifter Jack Reacher. Before him, Tom Cruise played the part in two films.
The spinoff has been a long time coming. Prime Video gave it a series order, meaning it went straight to a full series, in October 2024 under the working title The Untitled Neagley Project. Five more series regulars joined the cast in February 2025, Variety reported at the time.
Early reaction has been blunt. In a review published on September 15, Variety said Frances Neagley is no Jack Reacher and called the spinoff nowhere near as fun to watch as the flagship show Variety.
For fans, this means no weekly wait. The complete first season is available from day one, so the Chicago case can be watched in any order and at any pace.
