Helldivers 2 Leads PlayStation Plus Game Catalog Lineup for August 2026

Sony's co-op shooter Helldivers 2 joined the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on August 12, 2026, headlining a batch of titles rolling out to subscribers across the month. VGC
The announcement came with a surprise element. Helldivers 2 was available immediately on the day of the reveal, while the other titles arrive in two later waves. The multiplayer shooter's catalog debut also coincided with a substantial new update called "Devoid of Liberty" and a Warhammer 40,000 crossover Warbond — a themed pack of in-game items players can unlock through play. Developed by Arrowhead Game Studios, Helldivers 2 pits squads of players against alien armies in chaotic, friendly-fire-heavy combat. It launched in February 2024 and became one of that year's most played games. Its arrival on the subscription catalog opens the door to a fresh wave of players who can now jump in as part of their existing PS Plus membership rather than buying the game separately.
Three titles join on August 18, 2026: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, an open-world medieval role-playing game; Vampire Survivors, the bullet-hell arcade hit available on both PS5 and PS4; and two retro titles entering the PS Plus Classics Catalog — Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams (originally a PS2 title) and Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire (originally a PS1 release).
The remaining games land on August 25, 2026. That group includes Hell is Us (PS5), Umamusume Pretty Derby: Party Dash (PS4), Two Point Museum (PS5), Metro Exodus (PS5, PS4), and Dying Light 2 (PS5, PS4).
PlayStation Plus operates on a tiered subscription model. The Extra and Premium tiers both grant access to the Game Catalog, the rotating library of titles separate from the three monthly games all subscribers receive. The Classics Catalog, which features older titles from PlayStation's back catalogue, is exclusive to the Premium tier.
The August reveal also overlaps with previously announced monthly games. On July 28, 2026, the PlayStation Blog confirmed that Dying Light 2 Stay Human Reloaded Edition, Big Walk, and Signalis would be the August Monthly Games — a separate benefit available to all PS Plus subscribers regardless of tier. Dying Light 2's appearance in both the Monthly Games and the Game Catalog lineup means it reaches the widest possible subscriber audience this month.
For players weighing a subscription renewal or an upgrade, the catalog's strength rests on the headline name. Helldivers 2 arriving with a major content update attached is the kind of timing that makes a subscription feel like it is paying for itself.
