Hayley Williams' Power Snatch Returns With Second EP of 2026

Hayley Williams has released EP2, the second release this year from her side project Power Snatch, as reported by Pitchfork on August 12, 2026.
Power Snatch is a duo: Williams alongside producer Daniel James, whose credits include the album Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party. The pair debuted earlier in 2026 with a surprise drop called EP1, a three-track, roughly eight-minute release that arrived on Bandcamp on February 1. Their first song, "Assignment," premiered on Apple Music Radio around the same time.
The new EP leans into 1990s-inflected alt-rock and trip-hop — the sample-driven, downtempo sound pioneered by acts like Portishead and Massive Attack in that decade. EP2 contains four tracks: "Machete," "New Legs," "Born Dead," and "Hell Is a Hallway."
Williams has kept a busy touring schedule alongside the Power Snatch releases. She wrapped the Hayley Williams at a Bachelorette Party tour in June 2026 and is set to begin her second tour of the year, titled The Hayley Williams Show, in September.
That pace — two EPs and two tours inside a single calendar year — puts Power Snatch in a different rhythm from the typical album cycle, where months of pre-release marketing separate a record's announcement from its arrival. Both Power Snatch EPs have been dropped with little advance warning, closer to the surprise-release model artists have used increasingly since the streaming era shortened the gap between finishing a recording and putting it in front of listeners.
For fans, the appeal is straightforward: more music, arriving quickly, from a collaboration that is clearly operating outside any major-label album schedule. Whether Power Snatch becomes a touring act in its own right or stays a studio project has not been announced.
