Power Trip Release First New Songs Since 2020 With Singer Seth Gilmore

Power Trip have released their first new music in six years.
The Texas metal band issued “Precinct 3” and “Scavenger” on streaming services on 9 October 2026 as a double single, two tracks presented as one release. The songs are the group’s first new material since the death of singer Riley Gale in 2020, and the first to feature singer Seth Gilmore, according to Rolling Stone.
Both songs are taken from the band’s coming third album. That record will be the follow-up to 2017’s Nightmare Logic and the first full album with Gilmore on vocals. The full-length is due in 2027, Blabbermouth reported.
The current line-up centres on the four founding musicians: guitarists Blake Ibanez and Nick Stewart, bassist Chris Whetzel and drummer Chris Ulsh, with Gilmore on vocals. Power Trip paused after Gale’s death in 2020. In 2024, the band confirmed plans to return to live shows with Gilmore as singer.
The new album was recorded at Empire Sound studio in Texas with producer Jacob Hansen. It will be released on Blue Grape Music, the label handling the band’s next phase.
The release was teased earlier in the week with a foggy Instagram post, Revolver reported. Blue Grape Music will also issue “Precinct 3” as a seven-inch single, the small vinyl format with one song per side, in a variety of formats and pressings.
Live dates follow fast. Power Trip will support Slayer’s Reign of Blood 40th Anniversary show in Mexico City on 21 October. They will then play Sick New World Texas on 24 October.
For fans, this means the wait is over in two stages. Two songs are out now on streaming. Then comes a full album next year, the band’s first album cycle with a new singer and its first since Nightmare Logic.
