Reacher Season 4 Premieres on Prime Video with Eight New Cast Members
Reacher returns for its fourth season on Wednesday, August 12 on Prime Video, with Alan Ritchson back as Jack Reacher — the former Army investigator who drifts from town to town and trouble to trouble.
This season draws on Lee Child's novels and sends Reacher into what Variety describes as "a deadly game" after a chance encounter with a distraught stranger on a subway. Eight new cast members join the show, including Jay Baruchel, Sydelle Noel, Agnez Mo, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan, Kathleen Robertson, Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette, and Kevin Weisman (Variety; Variety; About Amazon).
Several of those roles come with story hooks of their own. Noel plays Tamara Green, a Philadelphia investigator stuck on the night shift. Rodriguez-Marquette plays Jacob Merrick, a small-town New Jersey cop investigating his adopted daughter's death. Weisman takes the role of Russell Plum. All three are new characters for the television adaptation (Variety).
Reacher has become one of Prime Video's most reliable performers. Season 3 was the platform's most-watched season since the first season of Fallout, according to Variety. That is a notable benchmark — Fallout premiered in April 2024 and drew large audiences in its opening weeks. Reacher sitting behind it means the show has held its audience across multiple seasons, no small thing in a streaming landscape where viewership often drops off after a debut.
The Reacher universe is also expanding beyond the flagship series. Maria Sten, who plays Frances Neagley in the main show, headlines a spinoff simply titled Neagley, also on Prime Video. Alan Ritchson will guest star as Reacher in that series, and Greyston Holt joins the cast as well (About Amazon). The spinoff does not yet have a premiere date.
For viewers, the draw is straightforward. Reacher offers a particular kind of pleasure — a very large man solves problems with his fists and his brain, usually in that order. Season 4 adds fresh faces and a new mystery built around a subway encounter, and the early cast details suggest the show is leaning into multiple intersecting investigations rather than a single linear case.
Prime Video has not announced an episode count for the new season. All previous seasons ran eight episodes.
