RÜFÜS DU SOL plan to stop touring for what frontman Tyrone Lindqvist called "a solid amount of time" once their Inhale / Exhale World Tour ends in October, the singer told a crowd at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, on August 6. The remark, first reported by the outlet Beatportal and confirmed by Billboard, means the Australian electronic trio intend to step off the road until they have new music written.
The announcement arrived mid-tour, not after it. The North American leg of the Inhale / Exhale World Tour continues through October 2026, with the run scheduled to conclude at Austin City Limits, according to the band's website and Billboard. An Instagram reel posted on August 12 reiterated the hiatus plans.
The tour has already set milestones for the group. RÜFÜS DU SOL became the second Australian act after AC/DC, and the first electronic outfit, to headline the Rose Bowl Stadium in Los Angeles. They also played four nights at Madison Square Garden, the most by an electronic artist at the venue, per Billboard.
Those arena and stadium dates cap a two-year touring cycle built around the album Inhale / Exhale, released in 2024 through Rose Avenue Records / Warner Music Australasia. The record debuted at No. 3 on the ARIA Albums Chart, Australia's national album chart. Billboard named the track "Break My Love" the standout from the album and included it in the staff list "The 50 Best Dance Tracks of 2024."
The group's live-business footprint has grown sharply across that cycle. Their 2025 Australia tour closed in November 2025 with three sold-out hometown shows at Afterpay Arena, having sold 150,000 tickets across the country and 750,000 headline tickets worldwide that year, according to Billboard. RÜFÜS DU SOL won the Grammy Award for best dance/electronic recording in 2022 for the song "Alive."
For fans, the hiatus means no new tour dates are likely until a follow-up album exists. The band did not specify a timeline for returning to the studio or releasing new material.
