Jared Freid has a new Netflix comedy special on the way. "The Family Plan" premieres on the streaming platform on 1 September, according to Variety.

The special was filmed at the Tarrytown Music Hall in Tarrytown, New York, and is directed by Jason Katz. It marks Freid's second special for Netflix, following up 2023's "37 & Single."

Behind the scenes, "The Family Plan" carries a substantial executive producing team: Betches (the digital media brand co-founded by Jordana Abraham), Freid himself, Matthew Vaughan, James Dixon and Daniel Bodansky. Freid is represented by Dixon Talent and WME.

Freid is a stand-up comedian, podcaster and author based in New York City. His first book, "Walking Red Flag, Dating Advice From Your Favorite Guy Friend," was published by Simon & Schuster. He hosts the "JTrain Podcast" and co-hosts "U Up?" alongside Abraham.

On screen, Freid's appearances have ranged across late night, morning talk and reality television. He has appeared on "The Tonight Show" and "Good Morning Football." On "The Golden Bachelor," he hosted a roast of Mel Owens. He also voiced the narrator on the Peacock reality show "Love Under Cover" and appeared in the indie romantic comedy "31 Candles."

For Freid's audience, the new special offers a return to the format that first brought him to Netflix. "37 & Single" introduced his relationship-driven stand-up to the platform's global audience three years ago; "The Family Plan" picks up that thread with a new hour recorded in a historic 1885 venue north of New York City.

The special lands on a Netflix comedy slate that has been steadily adding new hour-long entries through 2026. No viewership figures or additional tour dates tied to the special have been announced.
