USA Network's 'Anna Pigeon' Opens to Nearly Eight-Year Ratings High

USA Network's new drama Anna Pigeon premiered on August 7 to the highest ratings for a USA original scripted series premiere in nearly eight years, according to Nielsen Big Data + Panel figures reported by Deadline.
In the three days after its premiere, the series averaged 2.25 million total viewers across USA, E! and SYFY, with 269,000 in the 18-49 demographic — the key advertising demo that shapes most ad-supported cable decisions. It ranked as a top new entry on ad-supported cable in both total viewers and that demo.
The show also pulled 9.5 million social media impressions from its first trailer release through to-date, per the same Deadline report.
Anna Pigeon stars Tracy Spiridakos in the title role: a former city dweller who becomes a national park ranger after a devastating personal loss. The series is based on the New York Times best-selling novels by Nevada Barr, which follow Pigeon through mysteries set across America's national parks. Spiridakos was cast as the lead in July 2025, with Ronnie Rowe joining the following month.
The ensemble cast also includes Paulina Alexis, Tricia Helfer, Kim Coates, Cooper Levy, Melanie Scrofano, Manuel Rodriguez-Saenz, Jordan Sledz, Ryan Northcott, Crystle Lightning and Nikki Hallow. Morwyn Brebner serves as showrunner — the writer-producer who runs the writers' room and oversees the series creatively — with Lea Thompson directing. Brebner and Thompson executive produce alongside Todd Berger, Brett Burlock, Sonia Hosko, Julie Di Cresce, Peter Emerson, Gordon Gilbertson, Tom Cox and Jordy Randall, with Leslie Cowan as producer.
The series is produced by Cineflix, December Films and SEVEN24 Films for USA Network in association with Bell Media. Cineflix Rights holds exclusive worldwide distribution, and the title was featured among the top shows at the London TV Screenings in February 2026.
For USA Network, the premiere number lands at a moment when ad-supported cable has been fighting for scripted attention against streaming platforms that report their own viewing figures in hours rather than overnight ratings. A near-eight-year high for a scripted premiere gives the channel a data point to take to advertisers and distribution partners. New episodes air Fridays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on USA Network.
The premiere attracted a review from The Hollywood Reporter published the day before the August 7 debut, which described the national park-set drama as "barely satisfying as background TV." Ratings and reviews, of course, measure different things — and a near-eight-year high is a ratings story, not a critical one.
