Freeform's Coven Academy Conjures an October Premiere — and a Next-Day Binge on Disney+ and Hulu
A supernatural teen drama from the creator of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is headed to Freeform this autumn. Coven Academy, created by Tim Federle, premieres Thursday, 1 October at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform, with the full first season streaming the next day on Disney+, Hulu, and Freeform on Demand — a release pattern that gives linear viewers a first-night window before handing the entire run to streaming subscribers (Deadline, 13 August 2026; Disney+ press release, 13 August 2026).

Malina Pauli Weissman stars as Briar, a fiercely independent New Yorker who discovers she is a witch. Malachi Barton plays Jake, a magnetic warlock with a dangerous edge. The ensemble extends beyond the central trio. Ora Duplass plays Tegan, an irreverent time-bending witch. Louis Thresher plays Ollie, a hungry newly turned vampire.
