Finding Her Edge Season 2 Begins Production as Netflix's Figure Skating Drama Returns to the Rink
Finding Her Edge is lacing up again. Season 2 of Netflix's figure skating drama begins production at the end of August 2026, with lead cast members Madelyn Keys, Cale Ambrozic, and Olly Atkins all reprising their roles, according to Deadline.
The series premiered on Netflix on 22 January 2026 and was renewed for a second season less than two weeks later — a fast turnaround that reflected strong early performance. Netflix's own fan platform, Tudum, confirmed the renewal on 3 February 2026 in an article headlined "Finding Her Edge Will Glide Back onto Netflix for Season 2" (Netflix Tudum).
That performance was measurable. Finding Her Edge reached Netflix's Top 10 in 81 countries, accumulating over 12 million views and climbing to the #3 spot on the TV Top 10 two weeks after its release, per Deadline. Netflix measures its Top 10 by hours viewed divided by total runtime, giving a figure it calls "views" — the metric the platform uses across its global charts.
The show is based on Jennifer Iacopelli's novel of the same name and follows the three Russo sisters, heirs to a struggling figure skating dynasty. Netflix's title page for the series describes the central story as a former ice dancer who returns to the rink with an exciting new partner while still holding feelings for her old one — her first love (Netflix).
For fans of the source material, there is more on the way. Iacopelli has a sequel novel, On Thin Ice, set for release on 4 May 2027, per Deadline. Whether Season 2 draws directly from that book's storyline has not been confirmed.
Behind the camera, Shamim Sarif and Jacqueline Pepall direct, with Shelley Scarrow serving as head writer. Jeff Norton executive produces alongside Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts, and Angela Boudreault for WildBrain, the Toronto-based production company behind titles including Chip and Potato and the Strawberry Shortcake franchise.
The Season 2 cast also includes Harmon Walsh, Alexandra Beaton, Meredith Forlenza, Alice Malakhov, Niko Ceci, and Millie Davis, all returning to the world of competitive figure skating that made Season 1 a global hit. A premiere date for Season 2 has not been announced.
What makes this stand out is the speed of the whole cycle. From a January premiere to a February renewal to an August production start, Finding Her Edge has moved through Netflix's pipeline in months, not years — and for the writers, crew, and cast attached to it, that means the rink stays open.
