Four RuPaul's Drag Race Shows Renewed Across MTV and Paramount+

Four shows in the RuPaul's Drag Race franchise have been renewed at once — the flagship competition, its All Stars spin-off, and both companion aftershows — across MTV and Paramount+, according to Variety.

MTV has renewed RuPaul's Drag Race for a 19th season, along with RuPaul's Drag Race: Untucked — the behind-the-scenes aftershow that follows each episode — for an 18th season. On Paramount+, the streaming home for the franchise's all-stars edition, RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars gets a 12th season and its companion aftershow All Stars: Untucked returns for a 9th.

The renewals land on the heels of a record-breaking run. Season 18 of the flagship set a new franchise premiere viewership record, per Variety. Myki Meeks won that season, while Crystal Methyd took the crown on the latest cycle of All Stars — a Tournament of All Stars format that pits 18 queens against each other across three brackets for a $200,000 prize, according to Paramount+.

The franchise also picked up 11 Emmy nominations this cycle, including a record-extending 11th consecutive outstanding host nomination for RuPaul. That streak is unmatched in the reality-competition host category.

For fans, the quad renewal means the Drag Race machine keeps all four pistons firing. New queens will sashay onto MTV; returning fan favourites will compete again on Paramount+. And the Untucked aftershows — where contestants debrief in the backstage lounge while their fate is decided — stay paired with each main show, as they have been for years.

The franchise has been a cornerstone of the Paramount Global portfolio since RuPaul's Drag Race moved from VH1 to MTV in 2023. The flagship and its spin-offs now anchor two different platforms under the same corporate roof, with linear viewership on MTV and streaming numbers on Paramount+ both feeding into the case for keeping the full slate alive.
