Little Shop of Horrors Revival Releases Cast Megamix Video Ahead of Manchester Opening
A new "Little Shop Megamix" video has given audiences a first look at the cast of the upcoming revival of Little Shop of Horrors, released on 19 August 2026. The video traces the production's journey from its announcement in February through to the cast gathering in the recording studio, with numbers including the title song, "Dentist!", "Somewhere That's Green" and "Don't Feed the Plants". The revival opens at Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester, where performances throughout September are now sold out. The Manchester season runs from 25 September to 29 November 2026, with a "Little Shop of Horrors Halloween Gala" scheduled for 31 October. The production then transfers — meaning it moves from its original venue into another theatre — to Liverpool Playhouse from 3 December 2026 to 9 January 2027, with a press night on Friday 4 December. The cast shifts between venues. Maisie Smith plays Audrey in Manchester; Jessie Elland takes over the role for the Liverpool season. Jed Berry plays Seymour, the hapless florist who raises a plant with an appetite that grows beyond control. Marcus Ayton voices Audrey II — the plant itself — brought to life through four puppets created by Robert Allsopp. Benjamin Yates plays Orin Scrivello, the sadistic dentist. Michael Starke appears at both venues as Mr Mushnik, the skid-row shop owner.
The Greek-chorus trio of street urchins who narrate the story is filled by Psalms-Nissi Myers-Reid as Crystal, Gabrielle Davina Smith as Ronnette and Rio Maye as Chiffon. The ensemble features Ella Howlett, Joseph Peacock, Nathen Scott and Kai Cameron Jay.
Carrie Anne Ingrouille directs and choreographs. The creative team includes set and costume designer Morgan Large, musical supervisor Paul Schofield, musical director Ben Barrow, lighting designer Rory Beaton, sound designer Kelsh Buckman-Drage, casting director Rob Kelly and general manager Thomas Hopkins Productions.
The production lands at a busy moment for Hope Mill Theatre. The venue is also launching Hope Mill Theatre Arts (HMTA), described as the first higher education training programme directly associated with a producing venue, offering a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre Performance from September 2026. HMTA aims to make musical theatre training more accessible for young people from Greater Manchester and the North of England. (Hope Mill Theatre)
