Haywire 617 Sign to Roadrunner Records, Announce Debut Album 'I Don't Wanna Say Goodbye'

Boston hardcore band Haywire 617 have signed to Roadrunner Records, with their label debut album I Don't Wanna Say Goodbye set for release on October 2nd, according to Rolling Stone.

The band announced the signing on August 15, 2026, per The PRP, and they celebrated in a manner suited to hardcore's traditions: throwing $5,000 in cash into the mosh pit at the Sound and Fury festival. The gesture turned a label milestone into a floor-level event, with festivalgoers scrambling for the money mid-set.

Alongside the album announcement, Haywire 617 released the first single and official music video from the record, a track titled "Interstate Love Affair." The album was produced by Mat Kerekes of the band Citizen and mixed by Taylor Young. It also includes guest appearances from members of NOTHING and the Aggrolites, branching beyond straight hardcore into adjacent scenes.

Haywire 617 formed in 2023 and have moved quickly. They have released five records over three years, most recently 2024's Conditioned for Demolition. In 2024 they played a 96-date tour across all 50 US states in 100 days, a schedule that put them in a different city nearly every night for three straight months. As of August 2025, the band had more than 250 future shows booked. They are also set to open for Turnstile and the Circle Jerks in fall 2025, placing them on bills with two acts that have shaped modern and classic hardcore respectively.

Roadrunner Records, once closely associated with metal and heavy music, has a roster history that spans decades. Signing a Boston hardcore act that formed less than three years ago places the label behind a band whose touring output already rivals that of established acts.

For fans, the October 2nd release date gives a concrete marker after the August signing announcement, which some outlets had initially placed only as "fall 2026" without a specific date. The album title, I Don't Wanna Say Goodbye, is the band's first full-length on a major-distributed label.

What stands out is the pace. A band that did not exist in 2022 has signed to Roadrunner, opened for legacy and contemporary hardcore acts, and built a tour schedule running into the hundreds of dates. Whether the album finds an audience beyond the pit is a question the charts will answer in October.
