Gap and Malbon Tee Up a Second Capsule — Bigger, Broader, and Going Global

Gap and Malbon, the golf-inspired lifestyle brand founded by Stephen and Erica Malbon, are back for a second round. Their new fall capsule — a 35-piece collection of men's and women's American sportswear — launches Friday at noon ET on the Gap website and at 18 Gap stores WWD.
A capsule collection, in fashion-industry shorthand, is a small, limited-run line designed around a single theme. This one pulls from Gap's deep archives of prep classics and filters them through Malbon's golf-course sensibility. Shoppers will find rugby polos, pleated skirts, preppy knits, relaxed outerwear, and limited-edition golf accessories. Prices run from $28 to $250.
The first Gap x Malbon capsule, a 33-piece line that launched in June 2025, was narrower in scope and priced from $18 to $138 FashionNetwork. The second collection adds two more pieces, raises the price ceiling, and — more meaningfully — widens the women's offering. Stephen and Erica Malbon said the new line "expands the women's offering and explores the intersection of fashion and sport" WWD.
The footprint is bigger this time, too. The first capsule sold through Gap's US site and select stores. The fall collection goes international: it will be offered in Japan, Mexico, China, the Philippines, Australia, the U.K., and Turkey, plus on Zalando, the European online fashion retailer WWD.
Mark Breitbard, president and CEO of Gap Brand, framed the second outing as a step beyond merchandise into something broader. He said the collection "extends the partnership into a broader lifestyle expression for customers" WWD. The campaign imagery was shot by photographer Duncan Wolfe.
For Gap, the collaboration is a way to borrow some of the cultural heat that has gathered around golf-adjacent fashion — a category that has moved well beyond the country-club pro shop and into streetwear territory over the past several seasons. For Malbon, a relatively young brand, pairing with Gap means access to a global retail network that an independent label would take years to build. The economics of collaboration — two brands splitting design credit, each lending the other something they lack — are straightforward enough. Whether a second capsule sells through as fast as the first is the question only Friday's launch will answer.
The collection goes live at gap.com on Friday, 19 August 2026 at noon ET.
