Markarian x Malbon: When a Eveningwear Label Takes On Golf

Markarian, the New York label known for its polished eveningwear, is stepping onto the golf course. The brand has partnered with Malbon Golf on a collaboration of premium athletic apparel and accessories, first reported by WWD on 28 July 2026. WWD
Alexandra O'Neill, the designer behind Markarian, has form in sport-adjacent fashion — she previously partnered with the Norwegian label We Norwegians on a skiwear collection. This time the discipline is golf, and the partner is Malbon, cofounded by Erica Malbon, which has built its name on golf gear that leans more streetwear than country-club uniform.
The collection's signature is a tiger lily floral print in white, butter yellow, and sage green. It runs across mix-and-match skirt sets priced from $128 to $228, a pleated scoopneck dress at $268, and a bomber jacket at $378. Accessories include a visor at $78, lettuce-edge socks at $34, and club covers ranging from $118 to $148. The pieces sit within the Spring 2026 ready-to-wear category — the main seasonal line that retailers and consumers shop each spring. WWD
The launch celebration reflects the crossover audience both brands are chasing. A padel event is planned at Reserve courts on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, followed by drinks at the Surrey bar — a pairing that slots the collection squarely into the leisure-and-lifestyle world that brands like Malbon have been cultivating. Padel, a racket sport with tennis and squash roots, has been one of the faster-growing participation sports in metropolitan markets over recent years.
Malbon promoted the women's collection — branded as Malbon Women and Markarian — on its official Instagram account, giving the collaboration its first public-facing push. The full WWD report, titled "Markarian Dresses Up Golf Gear for Malbon," appeared in the publication's "Fashion Scoops" vertical.
For Markarian, the collaboration extends a pattern of moving beyond the eveningwear and occasion dressing that established the label's reputation. For Malbon, it brings a designer sensibility into a category where technical performance and aesthetic appeal are increasingly expected to sit together. The pricing sits firmly in the premium space — a pleated dress at nearly $270 and a bomber at $378 place the collection well above mass-market golf apparel, but below the luxury houses that have recently entered the sportswear conversation.
