Nicolas Cage to Battle Cannibals in Post-Apocalyptic Thriller 'Parish'
Nicolas Cage will star in Parish, an action-thriller set three decades after a nuclear apocalypse, where he plays one of the last known survivors fending off a horde of cannibals. Deadline broke the news on 19 August 2026, reporting that Concourse Media will launch world pre-sales — the first opportunity for international distributors to buy territorial rights — ahead of the Toronto International Film Festival market (Deadline).
Cage plays a hardened survivor, also named Parish, who keeps himself alive with highly trained attack dogs and one iron rule: never let anyone through the gate. That vow is tested when a desperate woman carrying an infant appears outside his sanctuary, forcing him to choose between compassion and survival — and exposing his refuge to a vicious band of cannibals.
The film is written and directed by Adam Sigal, whose previous credits include Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose and a producing role on the 2024 sci-fi film Slingshot. Joel Shapiro of MagiCity Studios and Steven Tyler Sahlein are producing. Matthew Shreder's Concourse Media will executive-produce and finance the project alongside its sister company, Archetype Media Finance — a structure that lets the producers assemble funding independently before bringing a finished film to distributors.
Behind the camera, David Tattersall will serve as cinematographer. His credits span Star Wars: Episodes I, II & III, The Green Mile, Tomb Raider, Con Air and Next, the last of which also starred Cage. Filming is being lined up for October in Minnesota.
For Cage, the project adds another genre title to a slate that has ranged from indie dramas to blockbuster action across four decades. He is repped by Stride Management, WME, and GGSSC.
The TIFF market, where Parish will be pitched to international buyers, runs alongside the Toronto International Film Festival each September — one of the key calendar moments where sales agents and distributors negotiate which films will reach screens in the months and years ahead.
