Curtis Lum Lands Dual Roles: ABC's The Rookie: North and Prime Video's Cross Season 3
Actor Curtis Lum is booking back-to-back television roles across two major platforms. Deadline reported on 19 August 2026 that Lum will recur on ABC's upcoming series The Rookie: North and guest star in the third season of Prime Video's Cross — landing on both a broadcast network drama and a streaming crime thriller at the same time. On The Rookie: North, Lum plays Officer Charley Furst, described as a cheerful, relaxed officer with a reputation for always finding the path of least resistance. The character joins a ensemble that already includes Chris Sullivan, Karen Fukuhara, Froy Gutierrez, Janet Montgomery, Mya Lowe, and Malik Watson. The series centres on Alex Holland, played by Jay Ellis, who joins the Pierce County Police Department as a rookie after a violent home invasion upends his life.
Alexi Hawley serves as executive producer and writer on The Rookie: North, with Nathan Fillion, Mark Gordon, Bill Norcross, and Michelle Chapman also executive producing. Jay Ellis is credited as a producer. The series is set to premiere in 2027.
On the streaming side, Lum will guest star in Season 3 of Prime Video's Cross as F.W. Jung — a fixer who provides discreet, ever-changing services for powerful clients, solving problems with meticulous planning and quiet efficiency. Cross is a Washington, D.C.-based crime drama following Alex Cross, played by Aldis Hodge, and is based on characters created by novelist James Patterson. The series was developed for television by showrunner and executive producer Ben Watkins, and is produced by Amazon, MGM Studios, and Paramount Television Studios.
Lum has been building a steady run of high-profile credits. He was recently seen in the third season of Netflix's The Night Agent, created by Shawn Ryan. He currently appears in AMC's The Audacity as Tim Kwan and will reprise that role in the show's second season. On the film side, Lum will next appear in Karoshi, a Lionsgate action thriller, and will make his leading-role feature debut in Lawrence Le Lam's The Chinatown Diner. He is also set to lead the ensemble of New Diamond Restaurant, directed by Milton Ng, with Lum producing as well as starring.
