Drake's 'Shabang' Hits No. 1 on Rhythmic Airplay, Giving ICEMAN a Fourth Chart-Topper
Drake's "Shabang" has reached No. 1 on Billboard's Rhythmic Airplay chart dated Aug. 22, 2025, making it the fourth track from his album ICEMAN to top that ranking. The song was the most played on panel-contributing rhythm radio stations across the United States for the Aug. 7–13 tracking week, according to Luminate, the data firm that powers Billboard's charts Billboard.
The Rhythmic Airplay chart measures how often songs are played on a panel of rhythm-focused radio stations — the format that sits between mainstream pop and urban radio. "Shabang," released and promoted on OVO Sound/Republic Records, displaced Yung Miami's "Spend Dat," which had held the top spot for four weeks.
ICMAN now joins a short list of albums that have produced at least four Rhythmic Airplay No. 1s since the chart launched in 1992. The others are Drake's own Views, Post Malone's Hollywood's Bleeding, Doja Cat's Planet Her, SZA's SOS (including its LANA deluxe edition), and Kendrick Lamar's GNX. ICEMAN's earlier chart-toppers were "2 Hard 4 the Radio" (one week in July 2025), "Janice STFU" (two weeks in July 2025), and "What Did I Miss" (three weeks in August–September 2025).
The No. 1 also extends Drake's all-time lead on the chart to 46 Rhythmic Airplay toppers across the chart's 33-year history. Rihanna sits second with 17, while Chris Brown and The Weeknd share third place at 16 apiece. Drake previously strung together four consecutive No. 1s on the chart between 2018 and 2019, but the ICEMAN run — spread across distinct singles rather than a single song's reign — is the first time one of his albums has generated four chart-toppers there.
Beyond ICEMAN's four, Drake collected a fifth Rhythmic Airplay No. 1 in this era with "Which One," a collaboration with British rapper Central Cee that spent one week at the summit in October 2025. "Which One" appears on Drake's album HABIBTI, which was released the same day as ICEMAN and a third album, MAID OF HONOUR.
ICMAN itself has been a commercial force beyond radio. The album became Drake's 15th No. 1 on the Billboard 200 — the weekly ranking of the most-consumed albums in the US — surpassing Jay-Z for the most No. 1 albums among solo artists Billboard. In its second week atop that chart, dated June 6, ICEMAN earned 225,000 equivalent album units, the metric that combines traditional album sales with streaming and track-equivalent consumption.
Earlier singles from the album have already posted their own numbers. "Janice STFU" debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 — Billboard's weekly singles chart — with 40.7 million official streams, 2.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 3,000 copies sold in its first week Billboard.
Separately from Billboard's charts, "Shabang" has also held the top spot on the Mediabase rhythmic radio chart, a competing radio-airplay ranking. As of an Aug. 16, 2026 chart update, the song again claimed No. 1 there, retaining its leader status Headline Planet.
What makes the ICEMAN run notable is its breadth. Four different songs, each promoted as a separate single, each reaching the top of a radio chart that has historically rewarded consistency over novelty. Few albums in the chart's three-decade history have managed that.
