Horse Jumper of Love Announce Deluxe Debut Reissue and Full-Album Tour
Boston three-piece Horse Jumper of Love will mark the tenth anniversary of their self-titled debut with a deluxe double-LP reissue and a tour playing the record in full across North America and Europe, as Pitchfork reported on 19 August 2026.
The deluxe edition lands on 25 September via Run for Cover Records. It is a 2xLP vinyl pressing that pairs the nine original songs with unreleased tracks, demos and alternate takes. The package also includes a hand-drawn tab book, an essay about the album's making, tour photos and scans of handwritten lyrics. Among the previously unheard material is "Heather," a song the band recorded in 2013 but never released until now.
The tour follows the same thread. U.S. and Canada dates run from 25 September through 23 October, with European shows throughout November. At every stop, the band will perform the self-titled album straight through.
That debut has a tangled release history. The record originally came out on the label Disposable America, and the first vinyl pressing was limited to 1,000 copies — 200 red, 200 bone and 600 black — co-released between Disposable America and another label, Joy Void (Horse Jumper of Love Bandcamp). A second 12-inch pressing and a clear-with-bone-white-splatter LP, also capped at 1,000 copies, followed on Joy Void. The label reissued the album on vinyl in 2017, and a fifth-pressing cassette added the previously unreleased song "Orange Peeler." Joy Void is a subsidiary of Run for Cover Records (Post Trash), which now carries the album in its online store alongside the band's later records: Disaster Trick, Natural Part, Heartbreak Rules and So Divine (Run for Cover Records). On streaming, the self-titled album currently lists as a 2017 release under Joy Void Recordings (Spotify).
Run for Cover describes the nine songs as "intensely intimate," drawing on the slowed-down indie rock associated with bands like Codeine — a sound built around tension, space and deliberate tempos rather than volume or speed (Run for Cover Records). The digital album remains available on the band's own Bandcamp page for $9 USD.
For a record that started on a small label with a thousand hand-split vinyl copies, the anniversary treatment is considerable: a double LP, archival material that goes back to 2013, and an international tour dedicated to playing it front to back. The deluxe edition gives listeners who missed those early pressings — and the band itself a decade of distance — a reason to return to where Horse Jumper of Love began.
