Charlie Hunnam Reunions the Sons of Anarchy Cast — as Themselves — in FX's New Limited Series 'Legends'

FX has ordered the limited series Legends, a meta-thriller that brings together seven original Sons of Anarchy cast members — Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman, Katey Sagal, Maggie Siff, Mark Boone Junior, Tommy Flanagan, Kim Coates and Theo Rossi — all playing themselves as they face a real-world threat at a fan convention more than a decade after the show ended. Hunnam developed and executive produces the series alongside Jonathan Groff, and both will star. FX Productions and 20th Television will produce, with additional executive producers Rob Mac, Nicholas Frenkel and Jackie Cohn. The series will be available on FX and Hulu. The concept itself is the hook: the Sons of Anarchy actors, reunited at a fan event, are thrown into danger. It is a thriller built on a real television reunion. Hunnam, who starred as Jackson 'Jax' Teller across all seven seasons of the original series, has been developing the Legends project at FX for at least three years. Sons of Anarchy, created by Kurt Sutter, ran for seven seasons on FX and concluded in 2014. Sutter is not credited as being involved in Legends. The new series stands apart from the original drama, trading the motorcycle-club underworld of California's Central Valley for a premise that turns the cast's own celebrity into the story's engine. FX's greenlight arrived on the heels of Hunnam's first Emmy nomination, for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, recognising his performance in Monster: The Ed Gein Story.
