Kurt Sutter Gives Blessing to Sons of Anarchy Meta-Reunion Series 'Legends'
Kurt Sutter wants everyone to know he is fine with it. The creator of Sons of Anarchy took to Instagram to assure followers that he has no problem with Charlie Hunnam and FX turning his biker drama into a meta-thriller — one where the original cast plays themselves at a fan convention and the line between fiction and reality collapses when a real-world threat strikes.
Sutter said Hunnam came to him early, while still pitching the limited series to the network, to ask for his blessing. Sutter gave it in full. He also made clear he is not involved with Legends at all, and stated the series has nothing to do with the characters he created or the mythology he built across Sons of Anarchy's seven-season run on FX. FX officially ordered Legends as a limited series, described as a spinoff of Sons of Anarchy. Hunnam created the series and developed it with Jonathan Groff, who serves as showrunner.
