COL Group Unveils 2027 Slate of Korean Webtoon Adaptations in Singapore

COL Group, V47 Entertainment and Virtue Asia have unveiled a 2027 slate of short, phone-first dramas, with Korean webtoon and web novel adaptations at the front. The slate was presented at Inside Microdramas, held in Singapore on 27 October, according to Variety.
Microdramas are short serialised dramas, watched episode by episode on a phone. A webtoon is a comic read as a scroll of digital panels, and a web novel is a serialised story published online. Many of the 2027 titles start life in those formats before a studio turns them into video.
The lineup includes "Idol Once Again", a fantasy about a washed-up idol who travels back in time for a second shot at fame. "Genius Doctor Lee Mu-jin" is based on a webtoon about a street fighter coached by the ghost of a brilliant physician. "The Exclusive Secretary" is adapted from a web novel about a corporate heir and the secretary who lives with him, as their bond grows amid a fight over family succession.
Other titles are more of a mix. "The Vanishing Act" is a mystery about a magician who disappears on air during the final of an international talent contest. "Fortune Chasers" blends a scripted reality competition with thriller elements. "1% Better" is a reality format set in sports and fitness that pits unlikely rivals against each other.
The slate also carries over three microdramas already on the platform: "Oops, I Married My Bestie's Brother!", "My Sweetheart's a Gangster" and "From Janitor to Mrs. Billionaire".
The slate comes from FlareFlow's parent company. FlareFlow has passed 52 million registered users and carries close to 7,000 short-drama titles, reaching viewers in more than 200 countries and regions, Variety reports. The service also topped all rights holders in TikTok's short-drama revenue-share rankings for the first quarter of 2026.
The partners also launched Story Engine, a working model that links development, production, financing and worldwide distribution in one system. V47 was formed by Virtue Asia and Goldfinch International. Goldfinch International is the international arm of the U.K.-based Goldfinch Group, and it is aiming at the Middle East and North Africa, Asia and Africa. David Webster chairs V47 Entertainment. Timothy Oh is chief marketing officer of FlareFlow and general manager of COL Group International.
Inside Microdramas was billed as the world's first microdrama upfront. An upfront is an event where companies show buyers and advertisers what is coming next, so the format had a clear commercial purpose. Earlier announcements had said the venue, speakers and slate details would follow, and the slate is now public.
For viewers, the practical question is when these shows will reach a screen. Those details will decide when a slate like this starts to show up in people's feeds.
