Yellowjackets will end where it began: on television screens. Paramount+ announced on 20 August that the fourth and final season premieres on 20 November for subscribers to its premium tier — the former Showtime tier, which carries the platform's original scripted programming (The Hollywood Reporter).

The premiere comes about 19 months after season three concluded. Variety had reported in October 2025 that the final season would arrive in 2026, with the writers' room already open at that point but no exact date set (Variety). Several older pages on Paramount+'s own site still listed season four as renewed without a release date; the new announcement supersedes those.

Alongside the date, Paramount+ released a short teaser. It shows a bank of 1990s-era television sets airing footage from the series, cut together with news reports of the high school soccer team's rescue. The MTV News logo appears prominently, and former MTV anchor Kurt Loder can be heard saying rescue teams in Canada have found the missing teenagers (The Hollywood Reporter).

The rescue is no accident. Season three's finale set it up in one of its final scenes, with Natalie — played by Sophie Thatcher — making contact with the outside world via a satellite phone. The teaser picks up that thread and pushes it into the open, placing the characters' wilderness ordeal squarely in the public eye.

For viewers who have followed the show since its 2021 debut, the final season carries the weight of a story reaching its closing chapters. The series splits its timeline between the teenage survivors of a plane crash in the Canadian wilderness and their adult selves decades later, and season four will be the last chance to see how those two threads resolve.

The cast for the final season includes Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjardins, Nia Sondaya, Jenna Burgess and Hilary Swank.

Yellowjackets was created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, who serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. The series is produced by Lionsgate Television. It began life on Showtime before the network's integration into Paramount+, and the final season continues under the combined Paramount+ with Showtime banner.

Season two premiered on 26 March 2023, with all episodes streaming on Paramount+. The gap between seasons three and four — roughly 19 months — reflects a production calendar that, for a show juggling two timelines and a large ensemble cast, is standard rather than unusual.

The 20 November premiere puts the final season in the thick of the autumn viewing window, when platforms traditionally launch their most prominent titles ahead of the year-end holiday period.
