A new trailer for Insomniac Games' Marvel's Wolverine has revealed the preorder bonus costumes and alternate claw designs players can swap onto Logan, with preorders having opened on August 19, 2026. (GameSpot)

The game's default adamantium claws — the fictional nearly-indestructible metal bonded to Wolverine's skeleton — can be replaced with four alternate designs: serrated spine claws, hollow blade claws with pierced fullers, tapered claws narrowing to an arrowhead shape, and thick claws, alongside the default smooth-edged set. The preorder costume lineup draws from across Wolverine's comic history. The Incredible suit references Logan's first full appearance in Incredible Hulk #181, published in 1974. A practical leather outfit comes from Grant Morrison's New X-Men run, and a modernised take on his Age of Apocalypse look rounds out the comic-inspired set. Two original designs join them: the Savage suit, created by longtime Wolverine artist Adam Kubert, and the Night Hunt suit, designed by Iban Coello, the cover artist for the official Marvel's Wolverine prequel comic. Insomniac Games — the Sony-owned studio behind the Marvel's Spider-Man series — is developing Marvel's Wolverine in collaboration with Marvel Games. The game features an all-new original story in which Logan rejoins the mutant task force Team X three years after walking out on the group. The antagonist is Bolivar Trask, the scientist whose fanatical belief in human superiority drives him to kidnap mutants. The story spans Canada, Japan, and the Marvel island nation of Madripoor. Sony confirmed the September 15 launch date during its PlayStation State of Play presentation on June 2, 2026, which also revealed new gameplay and story details. The release window was first announced on the PlayStation Blog on September 24, 2025, alongside a trailer and cover art. A limited-edition PS5 bundle, console covers, and a game-inspired DualSense controller will be available alongside the game. (GameSpot; PlayStation Blog; PlayStation Blog)

The Deluxe Edition bundles additional preorder incentives: early unlock of the Classic Brown suit, early unlock of Reflective Claws, one extra Technique Point for character progression, and four PlayStation avatars. (PlayStation.com)

For fans, the costume and claw options point to a game leaning into the character's deep visual history. Five claw designs and at least six outfits, several drawn by the artists who shaped Wolverine's look on the page, give players a wide berth to customise Logan before the story even begins.
