Amazon MGM Studios has released the teaser for Vibe, an action comedy written and directed by Kunal Kemmu, with a theatrical release set for September 18, 2026 (Variety).

The film follows two ordinary friends who unexpectedly become the country's last line of defence. Kemmu plays Hardik; Sparsh Shrivastava plays Bugs. Neither character is trained for the job, and neither is volunteering. They are tasked with protecting a nation under threat — accidental heroes pushed into the deep end (Variety).

Preity G Zinta plays a commanding figure who pulls the two deeper into danger. The teaser presents her as composed, confident, and several steps ahead of everyone in the room. It is the kind of role that turns a supporting turn into the film's centre of gravity.

The cast also includes debutant Vanshika Dhir in a lead role, with Dinesh Lal Yadav and Yashpal Sharma in supporting parts. Deadline first reported the project's lead lineup and theatrical plans in May 2026 (Deadline).

Kemmu produces alongside Chirag Nihalani under their banner Drongo Films, which the two founded with a focus on backing character-driven stories. Vibe is presented by Amazon MGM Studios as a Drongo Films production. The teaser was also shared via Kemmu's Instagram on August 20 (Instagram).

This is not Amazon MGM's only Indian theatrical play this autumn. The studio has also set Nayyi Navelli, a fantasy family entertainer starring Yami Gautam Dhar and produced with Colour Yellow, for an October release timed to the Dussehra festival period (Variety).

What stands out here is the pipeline. Amazon MGM is placing two Indian titles on the theatrical calendar within weeks of each other — one an action comedy built around unlikely heroes, the other a festival-season family film. Both are headed to cinemas, not streaming, which signals a distribution strategy built around the Indian theatrical window and its key holiday corridors.

Kemmu's role is expansive: writer, director, producer, and lead actor. That combination is common enough in Indian cinema, but pairing it with a major-studio presenter like Amazon MGM gives the project a scale that a standalone production banner would struggle to match alone.

For audiences, the teaser offers a first look at tone and chemistry. The full film arrives in theatres on September 18, 2026.
