FromSoftware cut short the first Network Test session for The Duskbloods on 21 August 2026 after most participants were hit with a "Failed to log in to The Duskbloods game server" error message. The session had opened at 11 AM BST and was one of five planned test windows, each lasting four hours. Rather than let players keep hitting a wall, the developer ended the session early. VGC

A network test is a controlled preview — developers open a game's servers to a limited group of players to stress-test infrastructure before launch. For The Duskbloods, this was the closed variety: players had to register in advance using their Nintendo account during a sign-up window that opened on 22 July 2026. Kotaku

FromSoftware posted a statement on its official X account, @fromsoftware_pr, apologising for the inconvenience to those waiting to play. The message confirmed that the day's session was closed, said the studio would continue working on server improvements, and noted that future schedules would be announced at a later date. Four sessions remained in the test programme after the first was cut short. VGC

The Duskbloods is a PvPvE game — a format blending player-versus-player combat against player-versus-environment encounters — with online multiplayer at its core, supporting up to eight players per match. FromSoftware announced the title in April 2025 and set its release for 2026. FromSoftware

For the players who secured a spot, the early closure means waiting longer for a first taste of the game. The silver lining, such as it is: network tests exist precisely to surface these problems while there is still time to fix them. That four sessions remain suggests FromSoftware has room to iterate before the full launch.

The studio has not yet announced revised dates for the remaining sessions.
