Buckcherry Tour Bus Caught in Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash in South Carolina
A fatal multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 26 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, involved the tour bus of rock band Buckcherry in the early hours of Friday morning, August 2026.
Authorities confirmed to the band that a collision occurring ahead of their bus resulted in a fatality. Buckcherry said in a statement posted to social media that all band members and touring crew were unharmed, and expressed condolences to the family of the person who died. Rolling Stone
The crash took place at approximately 2:00 AM on the Friday morning. The band was travelling on its Roar Like Thunder Tour, which supports its eleventh studio album of the same name, released in June 2025 via Round Hill Records in North America. The album was recorded in Nashville at Sienna Studios and produced by Marti Frederiksen, with all ten tracks written by lead vocalist Josh Todd, guitarist Stevie Dacanay, and Frederiksen.

Despite the crash, Buckcherry's scheduled performance at the Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on the Friday of the accident was expected to go ahead as planned, according to Rolling Stone.
The band's current lineup consists of Josh Todd, the only original member remaining from Buckcherry's formation, alongside guitarist Stevie Dacanay, guitarist Billy Rowe, bassist Kelly LeMieux, and drummer Francis Ruiz. The Los Angeles-formed rock band, known for late-1990s and 2000s hits including "Crazy Bitch" and "Lit Up," has maintained a steady touring and recording schedule across more than two decades.
The tour in support of Roar Like Thunder is the band's latest outing behind the ten-track album, their first with Round Hill Records in North America. No further details about the circumstances of the crash or the identity of the person killed have been released by authorities.
