KATSEYE's 'WILD' Debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 With the Biggest Week for an All-Woman Group in Years

KATSEYE's album WILD has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart dated Aug. 29, 2026, giving the group its first chart-topping album and the largest single week by an all-woman group since the chart began ranking by equivalent album units in December 2015. The Billboard 200 ranks the most popular albums in the US each week, compiled by Luminate from a blend of traditional sales, track downloads and streams.
WILD earned 170,000 equivalent album units in the US in the week ending Aug. 20, 2026, according to Luminate data reported by Billboard. Of that total, 145,000 came from pure album sales — the biggest pure-sales week for an all-woman group in more than three years, since TWICE's Ready To Be opened with 146,000 on the March 25, 2023 chart. Both figures mark KATSEYE's personal bests by units and by sales.
This is KATSEYE's second trip to the Billboard 200's top 10, following Beautiful Chaos, which peaked at No. 4 in 2025. WILD is the group's third EP, per Billboard. The group also notched its first Billboard Global 200 top 10 earlier in August, when the track "Animal" entered at No. 10 with 29.8 million streams on the chart dated Aug. 8, 2026, as Billboard reported. "Animal" also reached No. 1 in Australia, KATSEYE's first Australian chart-topper, according to Billboard.
WILD is the fourth No. 1 album by an all-woman group in the 2020s, joining TWICE's With YOU-th (2025), NewJeans' 2nd EP Get Up (2023) and BLACKPINK's Born Pink (2022). Before Born Pink, the last all-woman group to top the Billboard 200 was Danity Kane, with Welcome to the Dollhouse in 2008 — a 14-year gap that the current decade's K-pop-driven run has now closed four times over.
Behind KATSEYE, Phoebe Bridgers' solo album Lost Weekend debuted at No. 2 with 118,000 equivalent album units — her first top 10 entry on the chart. Lost Weekend is Bridgers' first solo studio album since 2020's Punisher. She previously reached No. 4 as part of Boygenius, the trio she formed with Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus, whose 2023 album The Record became a breakout success. Bridgers also scored her first Australian No. 1 with the title track "Lost Weekend," per Billboard.
Stray Kids' THIS & THAT slipped from No. 1 to No. 3 in its second week. Every title from No. 3 through No. 9 on the Aug. 29 chart was a former No. 1 album, making the upper reaches a wall of returning champions broken only by the two new arrivals at the top.
What makes the WILD numbers stand out is the sales split. In an era where most chart-topping units come from streaming, 145,000 of the 170,000 total came from pure album sales — a ratio that points to dedicated fans buying physical copies rather than casual playlist plays. For an industry that has spent the last decade watching streaming swallow the sales floor, that is a meaningful signal about who is buying, and how much, in 2026.
