Barry Manilow Cancels Las Vegas Shows After On-Stage Technical Halt

Barry Manilow canceled his Friday and Saturday performances at Westgate Las Vegas after a Thursday show was stopped 40 minutes in, the latest disruption to a touring schedule already upended by lung cancer treatment.

Manilow's August 20 show at the International Theater was halted during a performance of his 1978 hit "Can't Smile Without You" owing to technical issues, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. In an Instagram post, the 83-year-old singer announced that the following two nights were canceled "due to technical and vocal problems." Refunds will be automatically processed at the point of purchase (Billboard).

The cancellations cap a difficult stretch for Manilow's live calendar. His August 4 arena show at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky was canceled for "unforeseen circumstances" — the second time that date, originally scheduled for March 9, had been postponed. He had been set to play the Westgate residency across the August 20–22 weekend and remained booked for August 27–29, with six more shows in September and multiple weekends booked through October, November and December.

Behind the scheduling turmoil is a health crisis Manilow disclosed earlier this year. In December, he underwent surgery to remove a cancerous spot from his left lung after a stage 1 lung cancer diagnosis. On his doctor's advice, he pushed back his planned February Las Vegas residency dates and arena shows scheduled across February, March and April. Manilow's residency, The Hits Come Home, is a long-running engagement at the Westgate's International Theater — the same property where Elvis Presley staged his own residency in the 1970s. For ticket-holders, the automatic refunds remove the need to contact the box office, though rescheduled dates for the canceled August shows have not yet been announced.

The pattern of postponements, rescheduled residency nights and a halted mid-performance show means that fans tracking Manilow's 2026 dates will need to watch his official channels closely. Six September shows and a full autumn slate at Westgate remain on the books.
