Black Mirror Season 8 Starts Shooting as Netflix Greenlights New Rounds of Legends, Being Gordon Ramsay, and More
Netflix's Black Mirror is officially back in production for an eighth season, with cameras rolling since summer 2026, per Variety. No launch date has been set. Series creator Charlie Brooker is writing and executive producing alongside Bisha K. Ali, with Jessica Rhoades, Annabel Jones, and Louise Sutton also serving as executive producers and Mark Kinsella as co-executive producer. Banijay Rights handles licensing.
Brooker first teased the return in January 2026, telling Netflix's Tudum site: "Black Mirror will return, and hopefully it'll be more Black Mirror than ever" (Variety). That confirmation has now moved from promise to concrete production schedule.
The Black Mirror update landed alongside a batch of Netflix renewal and production announcements that span scripted drama, reality, and sports documentary. The streaming platform confirmed Season 2 orders for the Neil Forsyth drama Legends and the reality series Being Gordon Ramsay (Variety).
Legends Season 2 will run six episodes and head into production next year. Forsyth executive produces with Ben Farrell and Rhiannon Forsyth for Tannadice Pictures, plus Richard Bradley for Lion Television. Tannadice Pictures, an Objective Media Group company, produces in association with Lion Television, both under the Banijay Entertainment umbrella.
Being Gordon Ramsay is also returning next year, with production already underway. Studio Ramsay Global produces the series, with executive producers Gordon Ramsay, Amanda Westwood, and Lisa Edwards, and Dionne Bromfield directing and producing.
Netflix also confirmed The Gentlemen will return for a third season; its second season launched on 3 September. Several other Netflix titles have updates: Supacell Season 2 has wrapped filming and is targeting a 2027 release, while a new instalment of Black Doves is set to arrive later in 2026. House of Guinness Season 2, comprising six episodes, goes into production in January. The motorsport documentary series Formula 1: Drive to Survive will return for a ninth season next year.
For viewers, the slate signals a steady pipeline across Netflix's British and unscripted fare — Black Mirror fans get the clearest sign yet that new episodes are real and rolling, while followers of Legends, The Gentlemen, and the Gordon Ramsay reality project know their shows have a confirmed next chapter.
