Netflix Renews Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen for Season 3 as Season 2 Trailer Drops
Netflix has handed Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen a third season before the second has even aired, and dropped the full Season 2 trailer ahead of its 3 September premiere. Ritchie is set to return as director for the new run, according to Deadline.
The renewal is a straight-to-series order, meaning Netflix commits to a full season without filming a pilot episode first. It signals the platform's confidence in a show that grew out of Ritchie's 2019 film of the same name and became a television series for its first season in 2024.
Season 2 widens the lens. The logline promises a story moving "from the country piles of England to the majestic Italian lakes," where "ambition can't be tamed." A familiar roster returns: Theo James and Kaya Scodelario lead a cast that also features Ray Winstone, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Giancarlo Esposito, Daniel Ings, Harry Goodwins, Ruby Sear, Jasmine Blackborow, Michael Vu and Pearce Quigley.
New faces join the fray. Hugh Bonneville, Benjamin Clementine, Benedetta Porcaroli, Michele Morrone, Sergio Castellitto, Amra Mallassi, Tyler Conti, boxer Chris Eubank Jr and presenter Maya Jama are all featured in the second season.
Behind the camera, Ritchie created the series and writes it alongside Matthew Read. The two also share directing duties with Eran Creevy. Moonage Pictures, part of ITV Studios, and Miramax Television produce for Netflix. Ritchie, Will Gould, Matthew Read, Frith Tiplady, Simon Crawford Collins and Ivan Atkinson serve as executive producers, with Laura Jackson and Max Keene producing.
The headline-grabbing detail around Season 3 is a casting conversation that Deadline first reported on 21 August: Meghan Markle is in talks to join the show. According to the outlet, those discussions are preliminary, meaning no deal has been finalised and no role has been publicly named. Netflix has not commented beyond the renewal announcement.
For a general audience, the appeal is straightforward. The Gentlemen trades on Ritchie's signature blend of British crime, sharp dialogue and ensemble chaos. A third season means the writers' room and a crew of hundreds have another full shoot ahead of them, and fans of the first season now have two more runs to look forward to.
Season 2 arrives on Netflix on 3 September. Season 3 does not yet have a premiere date.
