Netflix Renews 'The Gentlemen' for Season 3 as Meghan Markle Rumours Swirl Around the Show
Netflix has confirmed that Guy Ritchie's action-comedy series The Gentlemen will return for a third season, announcing the renewal on the same day it released the season two trailer The Hollywood Reporter.
Season two premieres on 3 September 2026 and runs for eight episodes Netflix Tudum. The show debuted at number one on Netflix's English-language TV Top 10 chart back in March 2024, pulling 12.2 million views in its first week Netflix. The cast includes Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Joshua McGuire, Vinnie Jones, Giancarlo Esposito and Ray Winstone, with Hugh Bonneville joining for the new run The Hollywood Reporter.
Ritchie, who serves as creator, writer, director and executive producer, said the third season felt "inevitable" and that the world of the show has expanded The Hollywood Reporter. Anne Mensah, Netflix's vice president of U.K. content, welcomed the renewals and thanked the shows' producers, actors, writers, directors and crew.
The renewal lands alongside a reported link to Meghan Markle. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Markle was in talks to star in the upcoming instalment, with a role reportedly being written for her into the third season The Hollywood Reporter. The report also notes that former Vanity Fair and New Yorker editor-in-chief Tina Brown said Markle had been dropped from consideration after intense backlash in the U.K. The Hollywood Reporter said it did not hear back from representatives for Markle or Ritchie over the weekend.
That claim rests solely with Brown, who is not a Netflix or production-company spokesperson. Netflix's own announcement made no mention of Markle. Neither Markle nor Ritchie has publicly confirmed or denied the talks.
For fans, the third-season pickup means Ritchie's crime world — adapted from his 2019 film of the same name — will continue beyond the eight episodes arriving in September. No premiere date for season three has been set.
The Gentlemen renewal was part of a broader slate announcement. Netflix also renewed Love Is Blind U.K. for a fourth season, The Rest Is Football for a second, Black Doves for a second, At Home With the Furys for a third, Black Mirror for an eighth and Supacell for a second The Hollywood Reporter. Separately, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder was renewed for a third season in June 2026, with Emma Myers returning as Pip for one last case Netflix Tudum.
That is a sizeable batch of U.K.-rooted commissions landing in a single day — a signal of where Netflix is placing its chips as the global streaming market keeps tightening.
